University of Debrecen Postgraduate Scholarship is now open for applications from suitably qualified students. It is a fully funded scholarship for all students sponsored by the University of Debrecen.

About the Scholarship

The University of Debrecen is a university located in Debrecen, Hungary. It is the oldest continuously operating institution of higher education in Hungary ever since its establishment in 1538 by Suleiman the Magnificent following the Ottoman conquest of the Kingdom after the Battle of Mohacs.

Benefits of University of Debrecen Postgraduate Scholarship

The Hungarian government provides the Stipendium Hungaricum academic scholarship for international students.

The Stipendium Hungaricum full scholarship includes:

1. Free tuition for the entire duration of studies.

2. Monthly grant for students of Bachelor, Master or PhD program.

3. Contribution to accommodation.

4. Free medical insurance for the entire duration of a BSc, MSc or PhD program.

5. With the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship, you can study at the University of Debrecen for free.

Applications will not be considered in the following cases:

1. Hungarian citizens (including those with dual citizenships).

2. Former Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Holders, who are re-applying for studies in the same cycle of education (non-degree studies, bachelor, master, doctoral level) including both full time and partial study programs.

Program Duration:

1. Bachelor programs: Full-time: 2-4 years. Partial: 1 or 2 semesters.

2. Master programs: Full-time: 1.5-2 years. Partial: 1 or 2 semesters.

3. One-tier master programs: Full-time: 5-6 years Partial: 1 or 2 semesters.

4. Doctoral programs: Full-time: 2+2 years Partial: 1 or 2 semesters.

Non-degree Programs:

1. Preparatory course in Hungarian language: 1 year.

2. Other preparatory and specialization courses: up to 1 year.
