University of Strathclyde Doctoral Scholarship is now open for applications from suitably qualified students. It is a fully funded scholarship for all students sponsored by the University of Strathclyde.

Founded in 1796 as the Andersonian Institute, it is Glasgow’s second-oldest university. The university receiving its royal charter in 1964 as the UK’s first technological university. It takes its name from the historic Kingdom of Strathclyde.

The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation is an independent and non-partisan charity established in 2001 as a living memorial to Pierre Elliott Trudeau.

The Foundation bridges the gap between academic and applied knowledge through its innovative and impactful programming and its growing community of intellectuals and leaders.

Requirements for University of Strathclyde Doctoral Scholarship

1. You must be a Canadian citizen studying at a Canadian or foreign institution, or a non-Canadian (permanent resident of Canada or foreign national) enrolled in a doctoral program at a Canadian institution.

2. You must be already accepted into or in year one or two of a full-time doctoral program and expected to complete your doctoral studies in 2026 or later.

3. Your field of study is broadly related to the humanities or human sciences of direct relevance to the future of Canada; (please refer to the FAQ for more details and read up on past scholarship recipients)

4. Your doctoral work must relate to at least one of the Foundation’s Four Themes: Human Rights and Dignity, Responsible Citizenship, Canada and the World, and People and their Natural Environment.
