Grand Canyon University Scholarships: One thing’s certain, education is vital and everybody should go for it but the problem has always been money.
Without money your dream of going to school won’t be near possible. In this article, I’ll be showing the list of available Grand Canyon University Scholarships.
1. Federated Insurance Business Scholarship
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must be a sophomore, junior or 1st semester Senior during the year the scholarship is awarded.
- Major must be in the College of Business – Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, etc.
- Students must maintain a 3.0 minimum overall GPA and a 3.25 minimum major GPA.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Preference will be given to students that hold leadership positions, are involved in extracurricular activities, and participate in community service.
Scholarship amount is one $1000 scholarship per calendar year. Eligibility and scholarship recipients will be determined by the GCUSF Scholarship Committee. Scholarships will be awarded in spring 2019 for the 2019/2020 academic year. Scholarship recipients must acknowledge their award in the form of an email thank you within three weeks of notification to [email protected].

2. Tim Browning Memorial Scholarships
Tim Browning spent most of this professional career in secondary education and came from a family of teachers. He devoted many years to assisting students to receive a higher education and in his honor; his family would like to continue this assistance.
The loss of a parent can create much adversity and suffering in a young person’s life. This scholarship is for undergraduate students who have lost one or both parents, and is established. to help hard working and deserving students triumph over loss by giving hope for their future and some relief from financial hardship.
Award amount ranges from $500 – $1000 annually based on available funding.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time GCU student.
- Applicants must have a minimum incoming or continuing GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proof of loss in the form of a copy of the death certificate is required.
- Applicants must write a 1-2 page essay describing how the loss of a parent impacted their life and their career aspirations.
- In cases where more than one student applies, equal consideration will be given to essays, financial need, GPA, and extracurricular activities.
Eligibility and scholarship recipients will be determined by the GCUSF Scholarship Committee. Scholarships will be awarded in spring 2020 for the 2020/2021 academic year. 3. Alex Acosta Scholarship Memorial Scholarship
The Alex Acosta Memorial Scholarship was created to continue the legacy of Alex Acosta, Jr, son of Alex and Deeanna Acosta, brother of Nicole Acosta, who lost his life at 23 years of age. Alex was very active in soccer throughout his years and was accomplishing his lifetime dream of becoming a fireman with the Phoenix Fire Department. This scholarship was established to help others achieve their dreams and goals and discover their life’s purpose while pursuing their continued educational goals from Grand Canyon University.
Alex’s parents would like to encourage students to always remember their faith, to work diligently toward their purpose, and to finish with honor.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicant must be an undergraduate Grand Canyon University traditional ground campus student taking at least 12 hours for each semester.
Scholarship amount differs based on available funding. Eligibility and scholarship recipients will be defined by the GCUSF Scholarship Committee. Scholarships will be awarded in spring 2019 for the 2019/2020 academic year. 4. The Society of Forty Men and Eight Horses (40 & 8) Nursing Scholarship
La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux (The Society of Forty Men and Eight Horses) is an independent, by invitation, honor society of American Veterans, more commonly known as “The Forty & Eight.”
The Forty & Eight is committed to charitable and patriotic aims. Our purpose is to uphold and defend the United States, to promote the well-being of veterans, their widows, widowers, and orphans, and to actively participate in selected charitable endeavors, which includes among others, programs that promote child welfare and nurses’ training.
Qualification
- Must be an Arizona resident participating in a post-secondary Nursing program. Applicant must provide verification of enrollment in an approved Nursing program.
- Candidates must submit an essay of no more than 500 words to include:
- Personal, academic, and career goals, including why your major was selected
- Significant life experiences and accomplishments
- Involvement in campus or community activities
- Explanation of financial need
The Scholarship Committee of the GCU Scholarship Foundation will work collaboratively with the 40 & 8 Scholarship Committee to identify qualified recipients. Scholarship recipients must acknowledge their award in the form of an email thank you within three weeks of notification to [email protected].

5. The Legacy Foundation Book Scholarship
Qualification
- Must meet GCU admissions requirements.
- Must demonstrate documented financial need as defined by the Grand Canyon University Office of Financial Aid.
- Must be enrolled in a Nursing or Health related program of study.
- Recipients chosen will receive $500.00 reimbursement for books.
- Proof of enrollment and book purchase receipts for books up to $500.00 will be submitted upon notification of award to [email protected].

6. The Dimension Data – Steve Westerman Memorial Scholarship
The Steve Westerman Memorial Scholarship, in partnership with Grand Canyon University and OCJ Kids, was founded with the mission of giving opportunity to those in the foster care system who have need and are looking to contribute to society through the application of Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and Health related degrees.
Eligibility
- Must meet GCU admissions requirements.
- Must have aged out of the foster care system.
- Must be an in-state, traditional ground student.
- Must be pursuing an academic degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or a Health related field.
- Must have demonstrated documented financial need as defined by the Grand Canyon University Office of Financial Aid.
- Must have a minimum of 3.5 GPA.
Eligibility and scholarship recipients will be determined by the GCUSF Scholarship Committee. Scholarships will be awarded in spring 2019 for the 2019/2020 academic year.
