The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) organizes recruitment into its workforce yearly and the successful candidate is recruited into the NPF workforce which is a federal government of Nigeria controlled organization.

Requirements or Eligibility to Join the Nigeria Police Force

According to the official Nigerian Police Force recruitment portal  these are the requirement for joining the NPF

♦ Nationality

A prospective candidate has to be Nigerian either by birth or naturalization and must have the National Identity Number (NIN) before enrolling for the NPF recruitment.

♦ Education

A prospective candidate or applicant has to have a minimum of 5 credits in O’Level examinations such as WASSCE, NECO, NABTEB or GCE with credits in English and Mathematics in not more than 2 sittings of the stated O’Level examination.

♦ Age

A prospective candidate must be between the ages of 18 and 25 before the recruitment process ends.

♦ Health

All prospective candidates must be certified medically, physically, and psychologically fit and sound as by a competent medical officer.

For example, persons which visual impairments such as blindness, poor eyesight, medical conditions such as debilitating illness such as pneumonia, kidney, heart, liver and respiratory illnesses, chronic diabetes and other such medical conditions are not eligible to enroll for recruitment.

Consequently, physical conditions such as bow legs, k-legs, amputations, gross malformation of body parts, hunchbacks, visible body scars, flat feet, poor coordination of body parts such as the hands and feet and other such physical conditions would not be qualified for recruitment.

The prospective candidates have to be psychologically fit. They have to be sane, rational and with the right temperament for public interaction.

♦ Height

Males must be at least 1.67 metres tall while females have to be at least 1.64 metres.

♦ Pregnancy

Females must not be pregnant throughout the duration of the recruitment process.

♦ Financial Status

Prospective candidates must not be in any kind of financial debt which would cause embarrassment.

♦ Complete online recruitment form

The online recruitment form must be carefully completed with the right details and download.

♦ Guarantors’ form

Prospective candidates must download completed forms which have to be filled by references which can be verified and validated.

The referees have to be civil servants form level 12 and above, court magistrates or judges, departmental heads for graduates or school principals for O’Level applicants.

Others include high ranking police officers, military officers from the level of Lieutenant Colonel and above, Navy officers of similar high ranking positions and traditional rulers who are recognized by the government.

  • Type in your password into the box provided for it in the pop-up box
  • Confirm your password in the box provided for it in the pop-up box

Note: Remember to write your password safely so you don’t forget it and keep it in a safe place.
